When producer Kip Pearson brought me her film I'm Fine I felt immediately that this story deserved a musical score that would convey the shock, stress and ambiguity of facing a debilitating medical diagnosis while carrying on a "normal" life — an ambiguity that leads us to say “I'm fine,” even when we really aren't.
Music adds greatly to the emotion running beneath the surface of a film. Kip and I brought together some never-recorded music I'd been working on, plus fresh new material, to score this film, from which I then also created this Expanded Soundtrack Album.
You can stream the album on any streaming service you subscribe to (see a list below). And on Spotify it's available free, with ads.
On my blog you can read the story of how the music of I'm Fine was created .
You can purchase the album on Bandcamp now, which both supports the scoring and recording of upcoming independant films, and helps fund the musicians I feature in future films. Join me in making this contribution to the beautification (and intensification) of San Francisco Bay Area film making.
You can also stream the film free now on Vimeo.
